An endorsement...

ONE is a non-profit working to fight poverty and related issues. I appreciate their efforts, and wish them success. In Washington-speak, I endorse them.

Closer to my heart*, Ben & Jerry's has partnered with ONE, and created a new ice cream flavor for them called ONE Cheesecake Brownie. Today, ONE had two ice cream socials on the Hill, one on the House side, and one on the Senate side. At the social, I was served ice cream by Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota) and Connie Britton of Friday Night Lights fame. I hereby heartily endorse Ben & Jerry's ONE Cheesecake Brownie ice cream.

Apparently, if I'd gone over to the House side, Bono would have served me ice cream instead of Ms. Britton... but really, Ms. Britton is a lot hotter than Bono, and he's gotten annoying lately.

Anyways, you should all get some ONE Cheesecake Brownie ice cream. That is all.

Readers block...

... it's like writers block, except for readers. It sucks. I haven't been able to get interested in reading anything for a few weeks now. Ugh. I usually have two or more books that I'm in the middle of... but right now, I can't seem to get into anything. I even tried reading some old standbys — things I love enough that I can read them over and over again — Dune and Holmes and the Ender's Game series and Twain, but I'm still just not feeling it....

Suck! Suck! Suck!

I feel like having a temper tantrum over this, like a little kid. Stomping my feet and shaking my fist and yelling "But I just want to read!" in a whinny little kid voice...

...but what's the point.

Shins suck...

Next Monday, I get to have needles stuck in my shins for some pressure tests... and then I get to go running around... and then more needles.

Have I mentioned I have a completely irrational fear of needles. Doh!
